What part of FREE don’t you understand?

Galaxy is offering the complete MDS for free. This is not a “trial” version, but the complete version with every exciting feature. The Galaxy MDS is free, not for some limited time period, but on-going, including the transition to MDS 3.0 and beyond.

Why Free?
Two reasons:

1. The Galaxy MDS is advertising supported. So Galaxy does receive revenue for the MDS. Now, the advertising does not interfere with your work and data entry space. The ads take up a small vertical space to the right of your Galaxy screens. There is no flashy video to distract you, no audio whatsoever to annoy you. Not only that, but rather than having to just tolerate the ads to get the free MDS, our advertisers are under obligation to present special values offered only to Galaxy users. If you click on an ad, you will get a more complete page from the advertiser, but only if you click. There will never be any interfering pop-up ads. Many of Galaxy’s MDS for FREE clients will find the advertisements of great advantage, but you are never under any obligation to do any business with our select advertisers
2. Galaxy is hoping you will be so pleased with the MDS software that you will want to use other Galaxy Modules (Care Plan, Billing, Financials, etc.) for which we do charge a low monthly fee. But again, you are under no obligation whatsoever to do so. The MDS software will continue to be FREE.

Ultimately, MDS for FREE represents the best in the Win-Win-Win world!

Who’s Eligible For Free?
Single Facilities and Chains of three or fewer facilities are eligible for MDS for FREE. We limit eligibility to smaller ownerships because, generally, in those operations the computer user is, or is close to, decision makers for whom the advertising may be valuable. For larger Nursing Home operators, the Galaxy MDS is available for a low monthly fee.

What do I get for Free?

MDS 2.0 and smooth update to MDS 3.0
Yes, after the release of MDS 3.0, you will continue to receive the MDS for FREE. This includes one user name for each facility, the complete software, all updates and enhancements, basic training, and regular support on an ongoing basis. Additional user access is available for $37.50 per month per user. See the MDS section under Products for an overview of the software.

ADT – Admissions, Discharges & Transfers (complete Resident Master and then some)
The ADT Module not only provides for complete Resident information for the MDS, but is used by all other Clinical and Billing software, should you choose to add those Modules. See the ADT section under Products for complete information. Calendar and Galaxy Reporter will also be included for FREE. Please see Products for more details on each of these features.

Basic Training is included FREE!
Basic live web training, up to 8 hours, is provided. Basic training will be sufficient to cover the basic use of the system, but you may choose to pay for additional training if you want to utilize some of the more sophisticated features, such as MaxTrax™.

On-Going Support is included FREE!
With Galaxy, you get a real live support professional on the phone, who can get right on screen with you. While support is not intended to be a substitute for necessary training, you get unlimited support calls during normal business hours (8:30 AM EST to 4:30 PM PST). When we say FREE, we mean FREE!

Automated Conversion of Basic Data
Using your past MDS submission files, Galaxy can initialize basic Resident data and incorporate historical MDS data, saving you hours of set up time. Of course, to take advantage of all Galaxy features, you will want to add additional information to the basic data, which will be part of your basic training.
